Multi-Point Inspections (MPI)

Forget about filling out MPIs on paper—save yourself time and effort by carrying out your Multi-Point Inspections directly in Kimoby! Whether on the desktop or mobile app, the completed report can then be easily sent to customers, providing them with a clear overview of the inspection results. 

Filling out an MPI

Desktop


To fill out an MPI on the web version of Kimoby, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Repair Orders tab.
  2. Search for the Repair Order of the customer you want to fill out an MPI for and open it.
  3. Click Create MPI at the top of the page.
  4. Select an MPI template and click Fill MPI.
  5. (Optional) Click Add Video to add a walkaround video to the MPI.
    1. Click Repair Order to add an existing video from the Repair Order.
    2. Click Computer to upload a new video from your computer.
  6. For each item, select the status of the inspection If needed, enter the amount needed next to the status (tire pressure PSI, brake pad millimeters, etc):
    1. Green - Checked OK
    2. Yellow - May need future attention
    3. Red - Requires immediate attention
  7. Click the button at the top of each category to mark all items in that category as Checked OK.
  8. (Optional) Click on the arrow to the right hand side of the item to open it. Here you can add:
    1. Comment - Visible to the customer
    2. Internal Note - Internal use only, not visible to the customer
    3. Media - Additional photos and videos for this item specifically
  9. Click Complete MPI when all lines are complete.
    1. Alternatively, click on the arrow and then click Complete & Tag Parts to notify your parts team of the report.
  10. Click Send Inspection. Note that this requires the permission to send messages to customers.
  11. Enter a quick message in the text message box.
  12. Click Send.

Mobile app

To fill out an MPI on the web version of Kimoby, follow these steps:


  1. From the main page of the mobile app, select the Repair Orders tab.
  2. Search for the Repair Order of the customer you want to fill out an MPI for and open it.
  3. Select Create MPI.
  4. Select an MPI template and click Fill MPI.
  5. (Optional) Click Add Video to add a walkaround video to the MPI..
    1. Select Record Video to record a walkaround video.
    2. Select a video from your phone’s library to upload it to the MPI.
  6. Select Next.
  7. For each item, select the status of the inspection. If needed, enter the amount needed next to the status (tire pressure PSI, brake pad millimeters, etc):
    1. Green - Checked OK
    2. Yellow - May need future attention
    3. Red - Requires immediate attention
  8. Click the button at the top of each category to mark all items in that category as Checked OK.
  9. (Optional) Select the arrow to the right hand side of the item to open it. Here you can add:

    3. Media - Additional photos and videos for this item specifically
  10. Select Next to move to the next section of items to inspect, or Previous to move to the previous section.
  11. When the last section is finished, select Summary.
  12. Select Complete MPI when all lines are complete.
    1. Alternatively, select the arrow and then select Complete & Tag Parts to notify your parts team of the report.
  13. Select the arrow next to Edit Inspection.
  14. Select Send MPI. Note that this requires the permission to send messages to customers.
  15. Enter a quick message in the text message box.
  16. Select Send.
