The Team Chat feature allows you to send messages, pictures, and videos to other users on your account in real-time. You can create dedicated channels for multiple users, such as specific departments or teams at your dealership, ensuring that the right people are always in the loop. Team Chat makes it easier for everyone to stay in sync while boosting communication and collaboration.

Chats
Chats allow you to message another user or multiple users in the account.
To start a new chat with other users:
- Click on the Team Chat icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Under the Chat section, click on + New.
- Search for the user(s) you want to chat with and click on the + Add next to their name.
- When finished, click on Open a direct message.
To send a message in an active chat or channel:
- Click on the Team Chat icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Click on an active chat or channel.
- In the window that appears, type your message in the message editor. You can also use Emojis, Join Files and Join Images using the buttons in the message editor.
- Click the Send icon to send the message.
Note:
You can add as many users as you want to a chat, but it is recommended to create Channels for large groups of users.
Channels
Channels help organize and label larger groups of users. For example, you can create separate channels for your service, parts, and sales teams and add the relevant users to each channel. You can also create channels for a specific purpose, for example, an #announcements channel for company announcements or a #promotions channel to advise or remind users to promote certain goods and services.
To create a new channel:
- Click on the Team Chat icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Under the Channels section, click on + New.
- Give your new channel a name
- Check the Private channel box if you want the channel to be viewed or joined by invitation only.
- Add users to the channel by clicking + Add next to their name in the Users list.
- When finished, click Create channel.
To join an existing channel that you are not a part of:
- Click on the Team Chat icon at the top-right of the screen.
- Click on Browse channels.
- Find the channel you want to join and click on it.
- In the window that appears, click on Join Channel button at the bottom. The channel will now also appear in your Channels list.
Managing Your Team Chats
To manage your team chats, open an active chat or channel. The buttons at the top-right of the window are your options.
Leave:
The Leave button will only appear in a channel window. Click on this button to leave the channel. You will no longer receive notifications and the channel will no longer appear in the Channels list.
Manage:
The Manage button will only appear in a channel window, and only for account admins and the creator of the channel. Click on this button to manage the channel.
In the Manage channel window, you can perform the following actions:
- To change the channel name, type in a new name in the Channel name box.
- To make the channel private, check the Private channel box. (private channels can be viewed or joined by invitation only).
- To add or remove users from the channel, click on a user’s name in the list.
- To delete the channel, click on the trash can at the top-right.
Minimize:
The Minimize button will hide the chat or channel window, but will still appear at the bottom of your screen, in a small box. Click on the box to reopen the window, or click on the arrow to hide or show these boxes.
Close:
The close button will close the chat or channel completely, but will still appear in the Chats or Channels list and can be reopened at any time. This is not the same as leaving a channel.
Mobile App
The Team Chat feature is also available on the Kimoby mobile app. To access Team Chat on the mobile app, tap either Home button or More at the bottom of your screen, then tap on Team Chat.
Chats on the Mobile App
To start a new chat in the mobile app:
- Open the Team Chat feature.
- Under the Chat section, tap + New.
- Search for the user(s) you want to chat with and tap on their name.
- When you’ve finished adding users, tap the green checkmark at the top-right of the screen.
To send a message in an active chat (or channel):
- Open the Team Chat feature.
- Tap on an active chat.
- In the window that appears, type your message in the message editor. You can also use Emojis, Join Files and Join Images using the buttons in the message editor.
- Click the Send icon to send the message.
Channels on the Mobile App
To create a new channel in the mobile app:
- Open the Team Chat feature.
- Under the Channels section, tap + New.
- Give your new channel a name
- Tap the Private channel box if you want the channel to be viewed or joined by invitation only.
- Add users to the channel by tapping on their name in the Users list.
- When finished, tap the green checkmark at the top-right of the screen.
To join an existing channel that you are not a part of:
- Open the Team Chat feature.
- Tap Browse channels.
- Find the channel you want to join and tap on it. The channel will now appear in your Channels list.
