Creating a Payment Request Automation

WARNING

This automation is only available for customers that have a Kimoby Pay account and that are integrated with either CDK Global or AutoMate. Please contact our support team by email at support@kimoby.com or by phone at 1 877 248 0204 if you have any inquiries. 

  • Click on the automation iconon the left side of your screen.
  • Click on New automation on the top left corner of your screen.
  • Fill in the information for the following 5 sections. 

Choose name

  • Choose the name for your automation.
  • Click on Payment request.
  • Click on Next

Assign replies

  • Select the user who will automatically be receiving all the replies for this automation. 
  • Click on Next.

Target customers

  1. Set your rules to target the right customers that will be receiving the payment requests. 
  2. Select the Reference attribute and the Amount attribute from the drop-down menus. 
  3. Select the Amount format. The amount format represents the way the amounts that are pulled from your DMS or other system integration are written. There are two ways the amounts can be written: 
    • In dollars: Numbers that appear as they are. The number 12.34 would equal an amount of 12,34$. 
    • In cents: Numbers that would need a decimal to represent their true value. The number 1234 would equal an amount of 12,34$.

If you are unsure about your amount format, you can find the information in a customer's profile.

  1. Click on Customers
  2. Click on the name of a customer that you know is compatible with the event that you are looking for. For example, if you are creating an automation based on a closed repair order, open a customer's profile that you know has a closed repair order. 
  3. Click on Events in the upper section of your customer's profile.
  4. Click on the last event that has the same name that you are targetting. 
  5. Look for the attribute that represents the total amount. 

Create message

  • Enter the message you want to send with your automation. Here are a few examples.
  • You will see a preview of your message and you can send a test to the number you want. Follow these steps to send a test message to the phone number of your choice. 
    • Click on the Send test message to... box.
    • Enter a valid cell phone number. 
    • Click on Test now
    • Open the mobile phone you sent a test message to. 
    • Open your text message inbox and you will see the test message.
    • Click on Next.

Set delivery time

  • Set the date and time for your automation. Your automation can be sent once per day at the time of your choosing or every time a customer matches the rules of your automation.
  • Click on Create automation

Throughout the whole set up, you can go back to each step before saving your automation.
